Margaret E. Nichol
Margaret E. Nichol, 86, of Bradys Bend Township, Armstrong County, died Tuesday at the Sugar Creek Rest home.
She was the wife of the late Jesse I. Nichol, who she married Feb. 25, 1940.
Born June 21, 1924, in Kaylor, she was the daughter of Joseph C. and Elizabeth J. (Downs) Olcus
She attended the Kaylor school.
Mrs. Nichol enjoyed quilting, her family and grandchildren and family gatherings. She also loved baking pies, bird watching and her cat, Sally.
She had been a nurse's aide at the McGinley Nursing Home in Chicora for 17 years and then at Sugar Creek Rest for 27 years. She loved being a caregiver and working as a nurse.
She was a member of the St. Patrick Roman Catholic Church, Bradys Bend.
Surviving are a daughter, Judy Nichol of Bradys Bend; a son, Herbert “Skip” Nichol and his wife, Frances, of Karns City; three sisters, Bessie Chemelli and her husband, Til, of Kittanning, Catherine Downing and her husband, Wilson, of Bradys Bend and Sara Young of East Brady; and two brothers, John T. Olcus of Sugarcreek Township, Armstrong County, and Robert J. Olcus and his wife, Donna, of Kittanning. Also surviving are two grandchildren, three great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, who died Jan. 18, 1970; a sister, Bonita H. Zaccari; and a special friend, Tony Delano.
<B>NICHOL</B> — Visitation for Margaret E. Nichol, who died Tuesday, March 8, 2011, is private. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Friday at the St. Patrick Church, Bradys Bend with the Rev. Ron Cyktor, church pastor, officiating. Private burial will be in St. Mary Cemetery, Bradys Bend.Memorials may be made to the St. Mary Cemetery, 915 State Route 68, East Brady, PA 16028.Arrangements are by the <B>Buechele Funeral Home</B>, East Brady.
