Rich performance

Karns City's softball team received seven strong innings from pitcher Breezzie Rich in a 3-1 victory over visiting Redbank Valley Thursday afternoon.

Rich gave up just the one run while striking out five and not walking a batter. She added a two-base hit at the plate.

Kate Williams singled and doubled for the Gremlins (2-2).

• Amanda Skidmore and Sadie Marak both had two hits in Butler's 6-1 loss to North Allegheny.

• Clare Galabinski's three-run home run was not enough for Mars in an 8-6 loss to Kittanning.
