COLLEGE PARK, Md. — Miami baseball coach Jim Morris picked up his 800th win with the Hurricanes on Sunday, when his team defeated Maryland 5-2 in the second game of a doubleheader.

Morris is now 800-310-3 in his 18 seasons at Miami. He's 1,304-554-4 in 29 seasons as a Division I coach overall.

Under Morris, Miami has reached the College World Series 11 times, winning the national championship in 1999 and 2001.

SOUTH BEND, Ind. — The University of Notre Dame on Monday will release its six-month investigation into the death of a student killed when the hydraulic lift he was on fell over in high winds as he filmed football practice.The Indiana Occupational Health and Safety Administration last month announced it would fine Notre Dame $77,500 for six safety violations tied to the death of Declan Sullivan, including knowingly putting its employees in an unsafe situation and failing to heed National Weather Service warnings on a day when wind speeds reached 53 mph.

GRAPEVINE, Texas — The Dallas Cowboys and their coaches were back together for one night.The team held their seventh annual Taste of the NFL: The Ultimate Cowboys Tailgate Party on Sunday night, and several coaches and players attended the event.Contact between NFL coaches and players is prohibited because of the lockout, but the league made an exception for charity events.The event has provided funds for 3 million meals for needy children in North Texas through the North Texas Food Bank. Chefs from some of the top restaurants in the area had 19 eating stations, as well as a silent and live auction.

CLEVELAND — The Southeastern Conference completed its gold rush Sunday at the NCAA women's gymnastics championships.Alabama's Geralen Stack-Eaton (floor exercise), Florida's Marissa King (vault) and Georgia's Kat Ding (uneven parallel bars) took home individual event titles, giving the league four total crowns at the event.One day earlier, the Crimson Tide won the national team championship at Cleveland State's Wolstein Center with junior Stack-Eaton providing their best all-around score.UCLA's Samantha Peszek (balance beam) claimed the only non-SEC championship on the third and final day of competition. Michigan senior Kylee Botterman earned the all-around title Friday.
