Murel W. “Sonny” Burrows, 69, of Sarver passed away Sunday at the Good Samaritan Hospice Unit at Concordia Lutheran Ministries.

Born Dec. 23, 1941, in West Winfield, he was the son of Murel E. and Marie Sasse Burrows.

He served in the U.S. Marine Corps.

He worked in the maintenance department at Concordia for 16 years, retiring in 1997.

Surviving are a daughter, Ann Marie Smith of Pittsburgh; a son, Murel W. Burrows of Leechburg; a daughter, Rhonda Renee (Jameel) Gavin of Ambridge; two brothers, Paul W. (Janet) Burrows of Cabot and Robert John Burrows of Fenelton; three sisters, Patricia (Donald) Bicker of Sarver, Delores Burrows of Worthington and Geraldine (Charles) Vasbinder of Butler; seven grandchildren; and his longtime companion, Terri F. Shelton of Butler.

He is preceded in death by his parents

<B>BURROWS</B> — Friends of Murel W. “Sonny” Burrows, who died Sunday, March 27, 2011, will be received Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at <B>Fox Funeral Home</B>, Saxonburg. Services will be Wednesday at 11 a.m. at the funeral home with the Rev. Roy D. Warren Jr. officiating.
