Brenda Workman Alvin, 63, of Zelienople died Thursday after a short battle with cancer.

Born March 1, 1948, in Sutton, W.Va., she was the daughter of Nelson and Mary (Tinney) Workman.

Brenda was a member of the Hungarian Club of Zelienople.

She enjoyed spending time with her family, cruises, the ocean, crafts and farming. Brenda also was an avid Steelers fan.

She is survived by her husband, Gary Alvin; a daughter, Tracy Taylor Anderson and her husband, Mike, of Harmony; sons, Don Taylor of Harmony and Thomas Taylor and his wife, Dawn, of Zelienople; sisters, Diane Workman Schleicher and her husband, William, of Pittsburgh and Marlene Workman of Sterling, Va.; and brothers, Jerry Workman and his wife, Debbie, Dale Workman and Dave Workman, all of Middletown, Va. Also surviving are 10 grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, eight nieces, six nephews, several great-nieces and great-nephews and a special friend, Mary Louise Kaylor of Sterling, Va.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by brothers, Nelson R. Workman Jr. and Thomas L. Workman.

<B>ALVIN </B>— Friends of Brenda Workman Alvin, who died Thursday, April 14, 2011, will be received from 1 to 4 p.m. Saturday at <B>Boylan Funeral Home</B>, 324 E.
