Remember Rep. Christopher Lee? You might not recall the name, because three months ago the married Republican congressman from New York quickly resigned after news broke on Gawker.com that he had sent a naked-from-the-waist-up photo of himself to a woman he met on Craigslist.

Boom, Lee apologized and went away. Quick story.

We’re not going to be so lucky with Rep. Anthony Weiner. The married Democratic congressman from, yes, New York, admitted Monday that he sent a lewd photo of himself to a 21-year-old woman, and he lied about it when the news broke, and he had similar contact with several other women on the phone and Internet. But Weiner says he’s going to stay in Congress.

Go figure — hundreds of people “liked” his Facebook page in the first hours after his jaw-dropping news conference.
