Duane E. “Butch” Darr, 69, of Middlesex Township, Valencia, died Sunday morning at his home.

Born in Mars, Dec. 2, 1941, he was the son of Donald F. and Mary E. English Darr.

Butch was a warehouse manager for the American Bridge Co. in Ambridge.

He was a member of the Bakerstown United Methodist Church and was active in the Mars Baseball Association and the American Legion Baseball Association in Butler.

He was an avid golfer.

Butch served in the Army Reserves during the Vietnam War and was a member of Mars VFW Post 7505.

Surviving are his wife, Bonnie M. Schuster Darr, who he married Jan. 15, 1966. He was the father of Pamela L. Holcomb (James) of Gibsonia and Scott W. Darr (Johanna) of Slippery Rock; grandfather of Palmer and Ian Holcomb and Nolan and Casey Darr; and brother of Virginia Woltemar of Richland Township, Richard Darr (Camille) of Concord, Calif., James Darr (Rita) of Ross Township and the late Marian Sirney and Gregory Darr. Also many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, great-great-nieces and great-great-nephews survive.

<B>DARR</B> — Friends of Duane E. “Butch” Darr, who died Sunday, May 8, 2011, will be received at the <B>McDonald-Aeberli Funeral Home</B>, 238 Crowe Ave., Mars, Tuesday from 7 to 9 p.m. and Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Services will be Thursday at 10:30 a.m. at the funeral home with the Rev. Dennis Swineford, his pastor, officiating.
