Milford R. 'Miff' Griffiths
Milford R. “Miff' Griffiths, 89, of Chicora died at 4:30 a.m. Wednesday at the ACMH Hospital, Kittanning.
A lifelong farmer, he had a true love for draft horses and was well known for driving and using a team of horses for plowing and other farming duties until he was in his 80s.
He was a member of St. Paul's Community Church, Chicora, where he was the church organist for 70 years.
Born June 2, 1921, in Kaylor, Armstrong County, he was the son of Helen G. King Griffiths and George E. Griffiths.
Surviving are cousins, Harry and Doris Griffiths of Sugarcreek Township, Kenneth and June Griffiths of Butler and Linda and William Guntrum of Bradys Bend Township; and close friends, the Marvin Davis family of Donegal Township, Chicora; and Jim Rodgers and his daughters, Jodie and Becky, of Cowansville.
<B>GRIFFITHS</B> — Friends of Milford R. “Miff’ Griffiths, who died Wednesday, May 11, 2011, will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Saturday at <B>STEIGHNER FUNERAL HOME and CREMATION SERVICES</B>, 111 E. Slippery Rock and Main streets, downtown Chicora. Visitation also will be from 1 to 2 p.m. Sunday at St. Paul’s Community Church, Route 268 South, Chicora, where funeral services will follow at 2 p.m. with the Rev.
