Alvin M. King

Alvin M. “Alvie” King, 54, of Phillipston died Tuesday at the ACMH Hospital, Kittanning, from injuries sustained in a motor vehicle accident.

Born Sept. 4, 1956, in Phillipston, he was the son of the late Alvin C. and Malvine A. (Vasbinder) King.

He was the husband of Mary J. King, who he married Feb. 14, 1998.

Mr. King worked at Bradys Bend Limestone, Creekside Mushroom in Worthington and Sylvan Foods in Kittanning.

He was a 1974 graduate of East Brady High School.

He enjoyed animals, the outdoors, woodworking, working on vehicles and campfires.

Surviving are his wife, Mary J. King of Phillipston; four sons, Jason King of Kane, Justin “Andy” King of Sligo, Josh King of Crown and Zachary King of Phillipston; a stepdaughter, Amanda Delp of Ford City; brothers, Charles B. King of Phillipston, Daniel J. King of Bradys Bend Township, Armstrong County, William B. King of Rimersburg and Barry A. King of Donegal Township; and a sister, Catherine A. Hicks of Bradys Bend Township. Also surviving are nine grandchildren.

<B>KING </B>— Friends of Alvin M. “Alvie” King, who died Tuesday, May 17, 2011, will be received Friday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. at the <B>Charles B. Buechele Funeral Home</B>, 105 Fourth St., East Brady. Funeral services will follow at 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home with the Rev. Richard Russell, pastor East Brady United Methodist Church, officiating.
