Freeport festival ready to debut comedy

FREEPORT — “Spotlight,” a new comedy by Louise Rockwell, will premiere at the Freeport Theatre Festival July 8 to 24.

The plot of “Spotlight” is classic comic theater: A brother and sister are feuding over the family fortune.

Curtain is at 8 p.m. Friday, Saturday and Sunday evenings. Opening night is sold out.

In the Footlights Gallery will be the art of sculptor Sam Andrew and nature photographer Becky Andrew.

Admission remains the same as last summer: $12 for adults and $10 for senior citizens and students. Tickets may be purchased at the box office a half-hour before curtain. Reserved tickets will be held until 10 minutes to curtain.

The show is at the Steele Farm on White Cloud Road, two miles south of Freeport off Route 356 in Allegheny Township, Westmoreland County.

Dinner is available at the River Forest Country Club with seatings at 5:30 and 6 p.m. Call 724-295-2298.
