Alice 'Sis' Wilson
Alice “Sis” Wilson, 70, of New Sewickley Township, Beaver County, died Friday at UPMC Mercy Hospital, Pittsburgh, from injuries she sustained in a fire at her home.
Born July 4, 1940, in New England Hollow, West Mifflin, she was the daughter of the late Charles and Alice Sherwood Gilmore.
Following 22 years of employment, Mrs. Wilson retired from the former Weyerhaeuser Diaper Factory in Harmony.
Sis was a member of the Harmony Moose Lodge 957. She was an avid Steelers fan, enjoyed golfing with her husband, bowling, jokes, laughter and shopping.
She loved her family, friends and life. She was the best and will be loved and missed forever.
She is survived by her beloved husband, Elmer “Rip” Wilson; two daughters, Kim Straessley and her husband, Fred, of Cranberry Township and Candy Stevenson and her husband, Dan, of New Sewickley Township; five loving grandchildren, Rip and Hunter Straessley, Evan and Mason Stevenson and Tiffany Wilson; a brother, Charles “Bus” Gilmore and his wife, Shirley, of New Sewickley Township; and three sisters-in-law, Barb Gilmore Currie of Greenville, Honey Wilson of Pittsburgh and Jean Zetler of Glassport.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Howard “Howie” Wilson; a brother, Bill Gilmore; and twin grandsons, Corey and Justin.
