William D. Enright

Enright

William D. Enright, 89, of Butler passed away at 9:05 p.m. Friday at the VNA Inpatient Hospice.

He was born July 24, 1921, in Butler to the late Michael J. Enright and Helen Marie Erkens Enright.

Mr. Enright was a 1940 Butler High School graduate and a veteran of the U.S. Army Air Corps, serving with the 8th Air Force during World War II in England and Russia.

He was a turn foreman at Armco Steel, retiring May 31, 1981.

Mr. Enright was a life member of the Elks and a past commander from 1947 to 1948 and life member of the VFW.

He received a citation from the Pennsylvania Voters Hall of Fame for voting in every November election for the past 50 years. He also received a Certificate of Honor from the state for his duty and service during World War II.

He enjoyed riding his tractor and spending time with his family and friends.

Mr. Enright is survived by one son, Charles (Suzan) Enright of Butler; one daughter, Kathy A. Enright of Butler; two sisters, Dorothy M. Enright and Janet Bacho, both of Butler; and a number of nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Alice May Miller Enright, who he married April 26, 1949, and who passed away Oct. 15, 2000; and by one sister, Helen Marie Schehl.

<B>ENRIGHT </B>— Friends of William D. Enright, who died Friday, June 5, 2011, will be received Tuesday from 2 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the <B>Thompson-Miller Funeral Home</B>, 124 E. North St., Butler. Funeral services will be Wednesday at 11 a.m. at the funeral home with the Rev. Father Tom Gillespie of the St. Paul Roman Catholic Church officiating.
