Gerald E. Foreman, 79, of Butler passed away Wednesday with his family by his side at Concordia Haven in Cabot, where he spent his last days with its wonderful and caring staff.

Born Feb. 25, 1932, in Ellwood City, he was the son of the late Frank E. and Ruth (McMunn) Foreman.

Mr. Foreman proudly served his country in the U.S. Navy.

He was a member of the American Legion Post 474 of Zelienople, where he was an avid horseshoe player. He was an active member of the Saxonburg VFW, and he took piano lessons until the age of 78.

He is survived by his beloved wife, Jane (Goehring) Foreman; a stepdaughter, Shari Beres and her husband, Steve, of Butler; and grandchildren, Cassi and Steven Beres of Butler, all of whom he lived with; a son, Gerald Michael Foreman of Ellwood City; three siblings, Gladys R. Peffer of Ellwood City, Earl Foreman of Virginia and Alice Baker of Wampum; four stepchildren, Ron Goehring and his wife, Debbie, of Nicaragua, Sandy Goehring of Florida, Richard Goehring and his wife, Susan, of Canada and Robert Goehring and his wife, Carolyn, of Ellwood City; 13 grandchildren; as well as many great-grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by seven siblings.

<B>FOREMAN</B> — A celebration of life service for Gerald E. Foreman, who died Wednesday, June 8, 2011, will be at 7 p.m. Thursday, June 16, at the <B>Boylan Funeral Home</B>, 324 E.
