Wednesday — An Agway push lawn mower was stolen Tuesday or Wednesday from under a porch at a home in the 400 block of West North Street. The mower, valued at $125, has a black motor and large rear wheels.2 p.m. Tuesday — An unknown thief made off with a dining room chair momentarily left outside a home in the 500 block of Fifth Street. The owner was cleaning the house and had placed the chair, worth $300, on the driveway near the back door.Tuesday — A wallet was stolen Monday or Tuesday from a car at a home in the 200 block of West Diamond Street. The owner told police that the wallet contained $200 in currency and bank cards as well as personal information.
9:15 p.m. Tuesday — A car driven by Lorene M. Carbone, 32, of Butler struck a deer on Dinnerbell Road near Frazier Road in Jefferson Township.Tuesday — Police filed drunken driving charges against Ryan D. Conto, 19, of East Brady stemming from a traffic stop about 9 p.m. July 5 at Buena Vista and West Slippery Rock roads in Concord Township. In addition to driving under the influence, Conto is charged with driving at an unsafe speed.July 8 — A suspected burglar stole a 16-inch aluminum wheel valued at $100 from a garage on Wood Lane in Slippery Rock Township. The burglary happened between 8:20 and 10:10 a.m. Police did not identify the suspected burglar.
1 a.m. Wednesday — David M. Ridinger, 31, of Kittanning was arrested for suspicion of driving under the influence after his vehicle crossed the center line and almost hit a state police cruiser on Route 128 in North Buffalo Township. Following a short chase, police said, Ridinger stopped his vehicle, got out and ran into the woods.Troopers found him hiding under trees and bushes. He was arrested on charges of DUI, reckless endangerment, fleeing or attempting to elude police and other traffic violations.
