Jean Douglas Anderson Eckstein

Jean Douglas Anderson Eckstein, 77, of Harmony passed away Sunday afternoon in Butler Memorial Hospital after a short illness.

Born in New Wilmington, Nov. 10, 1933, she was the daughter of the late Edwin L. and Ellen M. Douglas Anderson.

She was a Presbyterian.

Mrs. Eckstein was a homemaker and had been a foster parent for 25 years.

Because of her love of horses, she became involved in 4-H for 20 years and later helped with Horsemanship for the Handicapped.

She was preceded in death by one daughter, April Eckstein.

She is survived by her husband, Homer P. Eckstein, who she married June 21, 1951; six children, Claudia (Ron) Kelley of Slippery Rock, Douglas (Jennifer) Eckstein of York, Valerie (Mark) Kline of Evans City, Edwin (Cindy) Eckstein of Harmony, Brian (Connie) Eckstein of Mars and Simone Eckstein of Pittsburgh; 16 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and her dog, Buddy.
