Edward Piela
Edward Piela, 83, of Zelienople died Tuesday at the Good Samaritan Hospice, Wexford.
Born July 27, 1927, in Krakow, Poland, he was the son of the late John and Mary Wojick Piela.
Mr. Piela had been a self-employed general contractor and licensed plumber. He also owned and operated Ed Piela Used Cars with his sons in Zelienople.
Mr. Piela served in the Merchant Marines.
He enjoyed hunting, the outdoors and spending time with his family at his camps in Tionesta and Pymatuning and his winter home in Fort Myers, Fla.
He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Joan Piela; a daughter, Sharon McKee (Scott) of Lancaster Township; two sons, Edward J. Piela of Harmony and Kenneth Piela (Leslie) of Zelienople; and a sister, Sandra Taylor of Wyandotte, Mich.
A son, David Piela, preceded him in death.
