Kenneth L. Fogel, 79, of Butler passed away Wednesday at the VNA Inpatient Hospice.

Born in Butler, July 12, 1931, he was the son of the late Fernand and Mildred Heilman Fogel.

He was a retired crane operator at Butler Armco.

He was a member of the St. Michael the Archangel Roman Catholic Church.

A veteran of the Korean War, he served in the U.S. Army. He belonged to VFW Post 249 and American Legion Post 117.

Ken enjoyed golfing. He was an avid hunter and fisherman, and he loved spending time at his camp.

He is survived by four sons, James L. Fogel of Butler, Gary L. Fogel and his wife, Karen, of Butler, Keith A. Fogel and his wife, Melany, of Butler and Scott D. Fogel and his wife, Grace, of Butler; one daughter, Michele Sheaffer and her husband, Brendon, of Butler; five sisters, Mrs. Jacqueline DiGiacomo, of Butler, Mrs. Arlene Howryla and her husband, Michael, of Butler, Mrs. Shelley Kutan and her husband, Richard, of Ohio, Mrs. Gaye Dickey and her husband, Nick, of Butler and Mrs. Bernice Goldinger and her husband, Ralph, of Butler; eight grandchildren, Richard Fogel, Melissa Fogel, Crystal Fogel, Travis Fogel, Victoria Fogel, Lucas Fogel, Haley Sheaffer and Hanna Sheaffer.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Joanne Minich Fogel, who passed away Nov. 24, 2010; and one brother, Richard L. Fogel.

<B>FOGEL</B> — There will be no public visitation. A Mass of Christian burial for Kenneth L. Fogel, who died Wednesday, June 22, 2011, will be celebrated Saturday at 10 a.m. at St. Michael the Archangel Roman Catholic Church with the Rev. Father James Dolan officiating. Burial will take place in the St. Michael Cemetery.In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations to VNA Inpatient Hospice.Funeral arrangements were entrusted to the care of the <B>Martin Funeral Home</B>, Butler.Information also is available at www.martinfh.net.
