Mary Dolores (Susterick) Guiste
Mary Dolores (Susterick) Guiste, 88, of Butler passed away peacefully Monday among family at Butler Memorial Hospital following a short illness.
Born July 20, 1922, in Pittsburgh, she was the daughter of Stephan and Mary (Zazvech) Susterick of Pittsburgh.
Mary married John E. Guiste Sr. Sept. 19, 1938.
Mary was the owner/operator of the former Elora Inn General Store on Muddy Creek Drive in Brady Township and was a former auditor for Brady Township.
Additionally, Mary was one of the founding members of the Moraine Sportsman’s Club Auxiliary and was a member of Saint Andrews United Presbyterian Church of Butler.
Mary’s greatest love was that of her family, who she enjoyed being with and with whom she also enjoyed playing games.
Mary is survived by six children, Shirleyann (David) Dunbar-Rose of Groton, Conn., Bernie (Thomas) Carr of Connoquenessing, Jacquelyn Archer of Jamestown, Pa., and John (Kay) Guiste Jr., Audrey (Daniel) Burton and Chuck (Penny) Guiste, all of Butler; a sister, Kathryn Klein of Florida; 19 grandchildren; and 19 great-grandchildren.
Preceding Mary in death were her husband, John E. Guiste; a sister, Sarah Mohedano; three brothers, Charles, Stephan and Robert Susterick; and a great-great-grandchild, Blaze Wagner.
GUISTE — At the request of Mary Dolores (Susterick) Guiste, who died Monday, June 27, 2011, there will be no visitation. A private Christian burial will be celebrated at Mount Pleasant Cemetery in Mars.Arrangements are under the direction of
