George A. Summerville

Summerville

George A. Summerville, 63, of Zelienople died Tuesday at the Good Samaritan Hospice, Wexford.

Born Aug. 10, 1947, in Butler, he was the son of Sarah McKinney Summerville of Rimersburg and the late Arthur J. Summerville.

Mr. Summerville was a certified welding instructor and retired as a welder from Robinson Industries after 42 years. He also served as its first-aid coordinator and safety instructor.

He was a former longtime EMT for Harmony Ambulance and past member of the Emergency Management Agency for Zelienople and Harmony.

Mr. Summerville was a U.S. Army Vietnam War veteran.

He enjoyed hunting, motorcycle riding and spending time with his family.

In addition to his mother, he is survived by his wife of 42 years, Carol M. (McClelland) Summerville, who he married, Feb. 14, 1969; his daughter, Shelly Stoops and her husband, William, of Fombell; two sisters, Pat Brothers and her husband, Chuck, of Rimersburg and Tracy Hamilton and her husband, Duane, of Cleveland, Texas; a grandson, Logan Stoops; a nephew, Jeremy Brothers and his wife, Karissa, of New Ringgold, and a great-niece, Bradyn Brothers.

In addition to his father, Arthur Summerville, who died March 25, 2011, he was preceded in death by his brother, Richard Summerville.

<B>SUMMERVILLE </B>— Friends of George A. Summerville, who died Tuesday, June 28, 2011, will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday at <B>Boylan Funeral Home</B>, 324 E. Grandview Ave., Zelienople. Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home with the Rev. Robert A. Keplinger officiating.
