Small businesses looking for help with projects to trim energy costs and reduce pollution can apply for state grants of up to $7,500.
According to state Sen.
Don White, R-41st, the Small Business Advantage Grant Program helps businesses implement measures that save at least 25 percent and at least $1,000 annually in energy costs.“This is an excellent opportunity for local small businesses to take advantage of state funding to make improvements and save money in the long run,” White said.The program provides a 50 percent matching grant of up to $7,500 toward energy efficiency improvements on systems such as lighting, heating, cooling, as well as building insulation projects.“These grants help them install new equipment and reduce their energy consumption, which means savings in operating costs as well,” White said.Information is available on the web at www.portal.state.pa.us/portal/server.pt/community/financial_assistance/10495/advantage_grant/553249, or by calling the program manager at 717-772-5160.
