Arlene M. Salsgiver

Arlene M. Salsgiver, 85, of Kittanning passed away Thursday at the Sunnyview Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Butler.

She was born May 30, 1926, in Natrona Heights to Josiah Moser and Sara Jane Ewing Moser.

She was a member of the Bethel Bible Baptist Church, where she played the piano.

She loved watching sports, especially the Pirates, and was an avid card player.

She is survived by four sons, James B. Salsgiver Jr. and his wife, Marie, of Sarver, William L. Salsgiver and his wife, Carol, of Butler, Michael A. Salsgiver and his wife, Kathy, of Butler and Richard D. Salsgiver and his wife, Michele, of North Carolina; three daughters, Elizabeth Jane Figler and her husband, Bruce, of Natrona Heights, Jeanne A. Renwick and her husband, Jeffrey, of Worthington and Amy Jo Barton of Kittanning; two sisters, Mary Jane (Ed) Janoski of Cabot and Rose Ann (Clem) Valchar of Lower Burrell; 14 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James “Salty” Salsgiver Sr., who died Aug. 15, 2005; one son, Wallace L. Salsgiver; one daughter-in-law, Linda Salsgiver; and four brothers.

<B>SALSGIVER</B> — Friends of Arlene M. Salsgiver, who died Thursday, July 14, 2011, will be received from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Monday and from 10 to 11 a.m. Tuesday at the <B>F. Duane Snyder Funeral Home</B> in Worthington. Services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home with the Rev. Raymond Lesseski officiating. Burial will be at Lawn Haven Burial Estates.Memorial contributions may be made to the Maranatha Youth Ranch, P.O. Box J, Worthington, PA 16262.
