Ethel Kathryn Souzer

Ethel Kathryn Souzer, 94, formerly of West Sunbury and Slippery Rock, passed away July 8 at the Autumn Grove Care Center, Harrisville.

Kathryn was a daughter of the late David and Nellie Mortland Rhoades.

She is survived by her son, Paul (Maggie) of Lyndora; granddaughters, Larissa and Jennifer (Brian) Bolte; great-grandchildren, Skye Kathryn, Christopher and Austin; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Kathryn was preceded in death by her husband, Paul Z. in 1995; a son, Louis in 2003; a sister, Marguerite in 2010; and a brother, David “Bud” Rhoades in 1973.

A lifelong resident of Butler County, Kathryn graduated from Butler High School in 1935, remaining friends and pen pals with many of her former classmates throughout her life.

A self-taught pianist, she loved to play the organ and sing for her family's entertainment.

<B>SOUZER </B>— Private services for Ethel Kathryn Souzer, who died Friday, July 8, 2011, were July 9. Interment was in the West Sunbury Cemetery. Arrangements were under the direction of <B>William F. Young Funeral Home</B>, West Sunbury.Memorial donations may be made to the Butler County Humane Society of to the Butler Public Library.
