MIRABEL, Quebec — Ai Miyazato and Pernilla Lindberg shot 7-under 65s in wet conditions Thursday to share the lead in the Canadian Women's Open, while Michelle Wie was two strokes back in her title defense.
Canadian Samantha Richdale opened with a 66 at Hillsdale Gold Club, and Wie was another stroke back along with Angela Stanford, Mi Hyun Kim, Song-Hee Kim and Jenny Shin.
Wie holed a 60-footer for birdie on the par-5 fifth and closed with a 45-foot birdie putt on her final hole.
DETROIT — A former University of Toledo football player pleaded guilty Thursday in a sports-bribery investigation, admitting he accepted more than $2,000 from a Detroit-area gambler, including $500 to fumble the ball in a 2005 bowl game.Quinton Broussard became the fourth former Rocket to plead guilty in the point-shaving probe, which included football and basketball roughly from 2004 through 2006.
NAPA, Calif. — Quarterback Terrelle Pryor signed a four-year contract with the Oakland Raiders on Thursday, three days after being picked in the third round of the NFL supplemental draft.The Raiders announced the signing late Thursday night and said Pryor would take the field for his first NFL practice on Friday.The Raiders play their third exhibition game on Sunday against New Orleans and it would be extremely unlikely that Pryor would play. The Raiders then will have three practices before the exhibition finale at Seattle on Sept. 2.After that game, Pryor will be ineligible to practice with the Raiders until serving a five-game suspension.

LOUIS — The Pittsburgh Pirates have recalled outfielder Alex Presley and infielder Chase d'Arnaud from Triple-A Indianapolis.Presley was in the starting lineup Thursday night against St. Louis, playing left field and batting second. He hit .304 (17 for 56) during rehab stints with Indianapolis and Class-A Bradenton.Presley batted .333 with one homer and nine RBIs in 20 games with the Pirates earlier this season. He went on the disabled list July 23 with a bruised left hand.To make room on the roster, Pittsburgh optioned infielder Pedro Ciriaco and pitcher Aaron Thompson to Indianapolis. Thompson made his major league debut Wednesday, throwing 4 1-3 innings in a 2-0 win over Milwaukee.
