Russell G. Cratty
Russell G. Cratty, 71, of Bruin Road, Petrolia, died at 12:25 a.m. Saturday at Allegheny General Hospital in Pittsburgh.
Mr. Cratty was born in Parker Township, Sept. 22, 1939. He was the son of Harry and Virginia Cope Cratty.
He was a Baptist and a born again believer.
He was a graduate of Parker High School. He had been employed for many years at Associated Ceramics and Technology in Sarver, and he also operated a sharpening shop at his home.
In his earlier years, he enjoyed hunting and fishing. Mr. Cratty was an avid sports fan.
Surviving is his wife, Sonja M. Pennington Cratty, who he married Jan. 26, 1962, at the Parker United Methodist Church. Two daughters survive, Lorrie M. Ferringer and her husband, Daniel B. Jr., of Petrolia and Linda S. Spencer and her husband, Mark, of West Sunbury.
Also surviving are two grandchildren, Amanda Ferringer of Rimersburg and her fiancé, Richard Roxberry, and Mason Spencer of West Sunbury and his girlfriend, Rylie Dunn; five great-grandchildren, Makenzie, Skyler, Landon, Breeona and Zander; three brothers, Thomas Cratty and his wife, Cathy, Larry Cratty and his wife, Diane, and Harry “Chick” Cratty and his wife, Emma, and a sister, Joyce Chambers and her husband, Jack, all of Parker; and a number of nieces, nephews, cousins, brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a grandson, Benjamin Russell Ferringer, who died Dec. 14, 2008; and a sister, Judy Stalker.

Cratty, who died Saturday, July 23, 2011, will be received at the <B>Hile Funeral Home of Chicora</B>, 339 Chicora Fenelton Road, Chicora, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. today. Funeral services will be at the funeral home at 1 p.m. Tuesday with the Rev. Jacob Langdon, pastor of Fellowship Baptist Church in Emlenton, officiating.
