The Associated Artists of Butler County is looking for individuals to volunteer to sit for portraits Wednesday mornings from 10 a.m. to noon at its center, 344 S. Main St.

Each person will receive a few portraits of themselves.

Those interested can schedule a time by calling the AABC at 724-283-6922 and leaving their name and number.

District offers GED testingFORD CITY — The Armstrong School District will be conducting the General Education Development 2002 test from 6 to 10 p.m. Sept. 20 and 21 at the Ford City Junior-Senior High School library, Fourth Avenue and 11th Street, Ford City.Cost is $50. Register at the Armstrong School District Administration Building by Friday.

Gala and auction benefit slatedThe Lighthouse Foundation is hosting a Gala and Silent Auction from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m. Sept. 23 at the Grand Ballroom at Butler Cornerstone Commons to raise awareness and funds for its programs.Tickets are $75 per person, which includes dinner and cocktails. Fashion show set for Sept. 24PENN TWP — The GFWC Penn Township Woman’s Club will host a fashion show and lunch at 11 a.m. Sept. 24 at the Butler Country Club, 310 Country Club Lane.The event also will include a basket auction. Church to host Italian festivalSt. Michael The Archangel Parish features Festa Italia — Come Back to the Old Country from noon to 9 p.m. Sept. 24 and from noon to 7 p.m. Sept. 25 in the church hall, 432 Center Ave.The spaghetti dinner will be served from noon to 6 p.m. Sept. 25.There will be Italian food and baking, old world shops, wine and sauce tasting, a cash raffle, door prizes, theme baskets, contests and family activities.
