Brenda Sue Hillard
Brenda Sue Hillard, 61, of Grove City passed away Sunday at UPMC Montefiore Hospital, Pittsburgh, following an extended illness.
She was born in Grove City, Feb. 8, 1950, to C. Robert Hillard and Helen Fern Meals Hillard.
She graduated from Grove City High School in 1968 and the University of Pittsburgh School of Dental Medicine as a dental hygienist in 1972.
She had been the register of vital statistics in the Grove City area for many years.
She was a lifelong member of the Grace United Methodist Church in Grove City and served on and was a former chairwoman of the Flower and Decorating Committee. She had been a member of the Order of Eastern Star Chapter 86 of Grove City and the White Shrine in Grove City.
She enjoyed playing bridge, decorating and working with plants. She especially loved spending time with her nieces and great-nieces and great-nephew.
Survivors include a brother, Carl A. Hillard and his companion, Karon Freyta, of Boiling Springs, S.C.; two nieces, Gretchen L. Fritsch (Steve) of Hudson, Ohio, and Allison A. Boyles (Ryan) of Fort Dix, N.J.; a brother-in-law, Edward Dambach of Chippewa, Pa.; two great-nieces, Hallie Samantha and Adrienne “Addy” Alexa Fritsch; and a great-nephew, Lincoln Edward Boyles.
She was preceded in death by her parents and a sister, Diana Gail Dambach.
<B>HILLARD</B> — Services for Brenda Sue Hillard, who died Sunday, Aug. 14, 2011, will be at the Grace United Methodist Church, 210 S. Broad St., Grove City, at 11 a.m. Wednesday with the Rev. Howard Greenfield, pastor of the church, and the Rev. Willard Morse, pastor of visitation of the church, presiding. Family and friends will be received at the <B>Smith Funeral Home</B> in the village of Leesburg, 1778 Perry Highway, Volant, from 4 to 7 p.m. Tuesday and at the church Tuesday from 10 until time of service at 11 a.m. Wednesday. Interment will be in the Eau Claire Cemetery.In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Grace United Methodist Church, 210 S. Broad St., Grove City, PA 16127 or to the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, 1311 Mamaroneck Ave., Suite 310, White Plains, NY 10601.
