OWINGS MILLS, Md. — The Baltimore Ravens signed defensive tackle Haloti Ngata to a five-year, $61 million contract on Tuesday.His agent, Mike McCartney, said Ngata will get $40 million in the first two years of the deal. The All-Pro defensive tackle has 10 tackles, six solos, one forced fumble and two fumble recoveries.

WHITE OAK — Shenghai Jiang (Hyson), fighting out of the Positive Mental Attitude Center on North Street in Butler, emerged victorious in his first amateur boxing match Saturday.Jiang stopped Zack Pendrose of Pittsburgh in the second round after Pendrose received a standing-8 count in the first round.The bout was part of a card at Wonderly Hall in White Oak. Jiang fought at 140 pounds.

JEFFERSON TWP — Good Samaritan Hospice, a mission of Concordia Lutheran Ministries, will host its 10th annual Memorial 5K Run/Walk and 1 Mile Fun Walk Oct. 8 at the North Park Boat House.All proceeds benefit GSH programs for residents facing a life-limiting illness. Registration fees are $15 until Sept. 30, $20 thereafter.
