Suzanne C. Hepler, 85, of Butler passed away early Saturday at the VNA Inpatient Hospice after a short illness.

She was born Aug. 7, 1926, in New Castle, the daughter of the late Guy Walter Sutton Sr. and Pearl Estelle (Zinn) Sutton.

A teacher by vocation, she graduated from the Pennsylvania College for Women, now Chatham University, and worked for a number of years as a homebound instructor. Her best-known student is Butler Mayor Maggie Stock.

She enjoyed travel, crossword puzzles, and she was an avid and expert bridge player.

She was a life member of the First United Methodist Church in Butler.

Surviving are two daughters, Marcia J. Hepler of Butler and Mrs. Deborah Ann (Richard) Geibel of St. Louis, Mo.; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas M. Hepler, who she married June 4, 1949; a half-sister, Bernice Irene; and a half-brother, Guy Walter Sutton Jr.

<B>HEPLER</B> — A graveside service for Suzanne C. Hepler, who died Saturday, Sept. 3, 2011, will be at 11 a.m. Friday at North Side Cemetery, North Main Street, Butler.In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations be made to the First United Methodist Church, 200 E.
