Dowd, Scotece

Brian and Katie Scotece

Katie Dowd and Brian Scotece, both of Mars, were united in marriage Aug. 27 at St. Kilian Church in Mars. The Rev. Charles Bober officiated. A reception followed at the Mayernik Center in Pittsburgh.

The bride is the daughter of Tom and Maria Dowd of Harmony. Parents of the bridegroom are Carmine and Barbara Scotece of Butler.

The honor attendant was Michelle Tresky of Zelienople. Bridesmaids included Deidre Dowd of Pittsburgh, Alyssa Drauch of State College, Rachel Battaglia of Cranberry Township and Shannon Scotece of Albany, N.Y.

The flower girls were Kaelyn Dowd of Pittsburgh and Ciara Tresky and Meghan Tresky, both of Zelienople.

Performing the duties of best man was Chris Scotece of Springdale. Ushers included Kevin Dowd of Pittsburgh, Ryan Dowd of Harmony and John Spohn of Butler. The ring bearer was Liam Dowd of Pittsburgh.

The bride is a 2002 graduate of Seneca Valley High School and a 2006 graduate of Penn State University. She is employed by Irene Stacey Mental Health Center in Butler.

The bridegroom graduated from Butler High School in 1998 and from Clarion University in 2004. He is employed by the Mars Home For Youth.

Following a honeymoon trip to Aruba, the couple is making their home in Mars.
