Flora Jane Whitehair Crise
Flora Jane Whitehair Crise, 84, passed away Sunday in Tioga, La.
She was born Nov. 12, 1926, in Butler, a daughter of Artie and Bea (Elsey) Whitehair.
Flora Jane graduated from Indiana (Pa.) University as a registered nurse and was employed at Butler Memorial Hospital where she met the love of her life, William “Bill” R. Crise.
She was a member of the Goddard United Methodist Church and the Sebastian County (Ark.) Homemakers Club, while a resident of Fort Smith, Ark.
After moving to Louisiana, she was a member of the DeQuincy United Methodist Church and lived at Stonebridge Assisted Living in Sulphur, La., and at Tioga Manor in Tioga, La.
She is survived by her two sons, William K. Crise and his wife, Jane Ann, of Milwaukee, Wis., and the Rev. Jerry Crise and his wife, Sue, of Ball, La.; four grandchildren, Jeff Crise of Monroe, La., Richard Crise of Ruston, La., Eddie Crise of Iowa City, Iowa, and Angela Crise of Cleveland, Ohio; one brother, Adren Whitehair and his wife, Louise, of Hundred, W.Va.; two sisters, Nancy Whitehair Herold and Marchie Whitehair of Orlando, Fla.; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband of more than 62 years, William R. Crise; a sister, Dwella Whitehair Gram; and three brothers, Thomas, Raymond and Arley Whitehair.
<B>CRISE </B>— Visitation for Flora Jane Whitehair Crise, who died Sunday, Sept. 18, 2011, will be at the J. William McCauley Jr. Funeral Home, 901 Vine St., West Newton, Pa., from noon to 1 p.m. Thursday where services will be at 1 p.m. Interment will follow in West Newton Cemetery.In lieu of flowers, donations in Flora Jane’s memory may be made to the Methodist Children’s Home of Southwest Louisiana, 3029 Beglis Parkway, Sulphur, LA 70663; to the Palestine United Methodist Mission Fund, P.O.
