Family activities planned for Halloween
Several family-friendly activities will take place this weekend and Monday in Butler.
Again this year, Butler, Butler Downtown and Fishbone Ministries have teamed up for Children’s Fun Fest on Saturday. All activities will occur in and around the Butler Farmers Market near the corner of Chestnut and West Cunningham Streets.
The event begins at noon with a clothing giveaway. At 1 p.m., a free hot lunch will be served at the Salvation Army kitchen.
Activities will start at 2 p.m., including games, face painting, balloons, a puppet show, bounce house and more. Around 3:30 p.m., illusionist Tim Kutch will perform. The event is open to all children 14 and younger.
The festivities continue Monday with trick-or-treat on Main Street. Several businesses will pass out treats to children 12 and younger from 5 to 6 p.m.
Participating stores should have a pumpkin sign in their window.
Neighborhood trick-or-treat will follow from 6 to 7 p.m.
