Alberta M. Hilderbrand
Alberta M. Hilderbrand, 99, formerly of North Bluff Street, Butler, died Wednesday afternoon at the Chicora Medical Center.
Born Aug. 4, 1912, in Butler, she was a daughter of the late Albert and Margaret (McPaul) Nolan.
She received a bachelor's degree in teaching from Slippery Rock University and her master's degree from the University of Pittsburgh and then went on to teach 43 years for the city of Butler and also Butler County schools.
Alberta was a member of St. Paul Roman Catholic Church in Butler.
She was an avid reader and loved her family very much.
Her family would like to thank the Chicora Medical Center and the hospice with the Amedisys company for their excellent care.
Surviving are her daughters, Judith Margaret Montag of Chicora and Julia Minor Cozad of Gulf Breeze, Fla.; five grandchildren, Brian, Bradley and Bob Montag and John and Dan Minor of Gulf Breeze, Fla.; and seven great-grandchildren, Autumn, Aaron, Hunter and Haley Montag, Grace Minor, John Minor Jr. and Adam Sollaire Minor. Also her two nephews, Tom and Bob Nolan, survive.
Her husband, George Alfred Hilderbrand, who she married in 1938, died Nov. 16, 2005. She also was preceded in death by three brothers and was the last surviving member of her immediate family.
<B>HILDERBRAND </B>— Friends of Alberta M. Hilderbrand, who died Wednesday, Sept. 28, 2011, will be received at <B>Geibel Funeral Home</B>, 201 E. Cunningham St., Butler, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday. Private funeral services will be held Saturday for her family.
