Cerise Rothen

Cerise Nicole “Reese” Rothen, 31, of Butler passed away Thursday at 12:30 p.m. at her home.

She was born Feb. 21, 1980, in Butler to Cheryl Worsley and the late James Frank Rothen.

Cerise enjoyed reading, crafting, swimming, music, animals, gardening and, mostly, spending time with her children.

She was a Butler High School graduate. Cerise attended Butler County Community College and the University of Pittsburgh where she received a degree in environmental biology and plant genetics.

She enjoyed intelligent conversation over a cup of coffee.

Cerise is survived by her spouse, Anthony R. Buzzelli; her mother, Cheryl Worsley; her stepfather, Jayme Simms; two sons, Zion Elik Nathanial Opperman and Anthony Richard Buzzelli Jr.; two brothers, Brent Rothen and Michael Simms; her grandmother, Lorranine Worsley; three aunts, Keri Dolan, Patsy Rothen and Joy Rothen; two uncles, John Rothen and Robert Rothen; one nephew, Zachary Albert Rothen; and a number of cousins.

She was preceded in death by her father, James Frank Rothen; her grandfathers, Albert E. Worsley Jr. and Louis I. Rothen; and her grandmother, Mary Ellen Rothen.

ROTHEN — Friends of Cerise Nicole “Reese” Rothen, who died Thursday, Sept. 29, 2011, will be received at

Thompson-Miller Funeral Home, 124 E. North St. Butler, from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. Monday with a blessing service at 8 p.m. with the Rev. Steve Neff officiating. Burial will take place in the Butler County Memorial Park.Online condolences can be given at www.thompson-miller.com.
