It is encouraging that Gov. Tom Corbett, according to an Associated Press article in the Butler Eagle, is supportive of efforts to dismantle the state’s coercive liquor sales monopoly. The proposal was recently analyzed in a report on privatization.
Unleashing market forces would, despite any loss of government jobs, allow reality —and not bureaucratic whim — to operate in an industry that has been starved of basic economic principles.
