Margaret Ellen Maihle, 78, of Renfrew unexpectedly passed away at 9:50 p.m. Friday at UPMC Presbyterian Hospital.

She was born Aug. 20, 1933, in Butler to the late Joseph Zimmel and Lavern Graham Zimmel.

Mrs. Maihle worked at Magnetics and was a homemaker.

She enjoyed cooking, baking, crossword puzzles and her grandchildren.

Mrs. Maihle is survived by her husband, Fred Lewis Maihle Sr., who she married Aug. 11, 1956; three sons, Fred Maihle Jr. and his wife, Dianne, Thomas Maihle and his wife, Lori, and Frank Maihle and his wife, Renee; three daughters, Mary Jane Macoskey and her husband, Eric, Karen Phipps and her husband, Mike, and Linda Maihle; two brothers, David Zimmel and Francis Zimmel; 11 grandchildren; and a number of nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two sisters and two brothers.
