James H. McCune, 70, of Butler passed away at 8:37 p.m. Monday at Butler Memorial Hospital.

He was born April 9, 1941, in Butler, the son of the late John McCune and Evelyn (Reges) McCune.

James attended the New Testament Baptist Church.

He retired from Heasley's Nursery after almost 30 years.

He enjoyed bowling and gardening.

Surviving are two daughters, Brandy (Thomas) Reep of Butler and Jody McCune of Butler; a stepson, Darrell John of Colorado; three grandchildren, Cassie, Aidan and Klarissa Reep; four sisters, Esther (John) Daly of Butler, Judy (Glenn) Wells of Butler, Dori (John) Sarver of Butler and Edie (Harvey) Sumney of Ohio; and two brothers, Danny (Barb) McCune of Butler and Raymond “Ted” (Linda) McCune of Butler.

He was preceded in death by a sister and five brothers.
