CRANBERRY TWP — Dr. Amanda Adams has joined Butler Medical Associates as a family practice physician at 2001 Ehrman Road, Cranberry.

Adams formerly was a primary care physician, medical director of immunizations and medical director of women’s health for the U.S. Air Force.

Adams also was an Emergency Department physician at Salina Regional Medical Center in Salina, Kansas.

She received her medical degree from Drexel University College of Medicine in Philadelphia. She completed an internship and residency in family medicine at Saint Louis University in Belleville, Ill.

She is certified by the American Board of Family Medicine.

Adams is a member of the Alpha Omega Alpha Medical Honor Society and received the Outstanding Performance Award from Drexel University. She has held several teaching positions.

II-VI boosts number of shares to sellSAXONBURG — II-VI had its annual meeting of shareholders Nov. 4, electing Howard H. Xia to the board and re-electing company founder Carl Johnson, Thomas Mistler and Joseph Corasanti.Johnson was reappointed chairman of the board.The shareholders approved increasing the number of shares of common stock for sale from 100 million to 300 million.At the meeting, it was reported that II-VI’s Fabrinet Co., Chochai location in Pathum Thani, Thailand, has been damaged by flooding, the extent to which is not known, and the facility is not expected to return to manufacturing until after the new year.

FNB looks to buy Parkvale FinancialHERMITAGE, Mercer County — F.N.B. Corp. is buying Parkvale Financial Corp.A meeting of shareholders of Parkvale is set for Dec. 15 to vote on the deal. Parkvale shareholders will receive 2.178 shares of F.N.B. Corp., common stock for each share of Parkvale stock if the deal is approved.Parkvale, based in Monroeville, has 47 offices in Pennsylvania, Ohio and West Virginia, with 40 in Allegheny, Beaver, Butler, Fayette, Washington and Westmoreland counties, with total assets of $1.6 billion as of June 30.
