Mabel M. Hogue

Mabel M. Hogue, 87, of Brady Township died at 4:35 p.m. Tuesday at the Grove City Medical Center, Grove City, following an extended illness.

Born in Slippery Rock, Sept. 4, 1924, she was a daughter of Roy Benjamin Grossman and Florence Bryson Grossman.

She married Russell Roy Hogue on March 4, 1962.

She was a homemaker. In her earlier years, she had worked at the former Spaide Shirt factory in Butler.

She was a member of the St. John's United Methodist Church in Hallston and was a Sunday school teacher in her earlier years. For many years, she had perfect attendance.

Her life revolved around church and family. She and her husband enjoyed attending their grandchildren's sporting events

Surviving are her husband, Russell Roy Hogue of Slippery Rock; two sons, Russell D. (Shelley) Hogue of Slippery Rock and R. Jack (Shirley) Jones of Slippery Rock; two brothers, R. Jack Grossman of Meadville and Bob (Rose) Grossman of Meadville; two sisters, Marge Dittmer of Slippery Rock and Isabel (Pete) Watson of Slippery Rock; and a daughter-in-law, Janyce Suppers of Leechburg.

Also surviving are grandchildren, Bart Jones, Greg Jones, Doug Jones, Curt Jones, Connor Hogue, Dalton Hogue and a special family member, Michelle Engelhart, who was like a granddaughter to her; 13 great-grandchildren; and a great-great-granddaughter

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Don Jones; a grandson, Bob Jones; a great-grandson, Corey Jones; three sisters, Dorothy McConnell, Virginia Ross and Evelyn Grossman; two infant sisters, Darlene and Pauline; and a brother, Bill Grossman.

<B>HOGUE </B>— Services for Mabel M. Hogue, who died Tuesday, Oct. 18, 2011, will be at <B>Smith Funeral Home</B>, 421 New Castle St., Slippery Rock, at 11 a.m. Friday with the Rev. Barbara Moore, pastor of the Hallston United Methodist Church, officiating. Visitation will be at the funeral home from 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday. Interment will be in Slippery Rock Cemetery.
