Martha Zoe Pennington, 98, of Sligo, formerly of Eldorado in Parker Township, passed away at 7 p.m. Tuesday at the home of her daughter, where she made her home.

Born March 1, 1913, in Allegheny Township, she was the daughter of the late Edward and Myrta Wilson Master.

She was a nearly lifelong resident of Eldorado near Parker.

Martha was married Oct. 15, 1931, to Walter L. Pennington, who passed away in November 1973.

She was a well-known member of the Bruin Senior Center, where she participated in line dancing, bowling, and “spoofs.” She did all of these activities until she became ill about a month ago.

She enjoyed country music, reading and playing cards.

She was awarded a 50-year certificate of continuous voting by the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.

Martha attended the Robinson Memorial Chapel near Parker, where she was the alternate pianist and a faithful Bible reader.

She enjoyed visitors in her home and loved spending time with her entire family.

She is survived by five children, George (Bonnie) Pennington of Parker, Dale (Vivian) Pennington of West Sunbury, Twila Best of Eldorado, Myrna Dunlap, with whom she made her home, of Sligo, and Alan (Deborah) Pennington of Springfield, Va.; 17 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; 11 great- great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Deanna Fross; infant twins; one sister; and four brothers.

<B>PENNINGTON</B> — Friends of Martha Zoe Pennington, who died Tuesday, Oct. 25, 2011, may call from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the <B>H. Jack Buzard Funeral Home</B>, 201 S. Wayne Ave., Parker. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Friday at the funeral home with Pastor Randy Evans, VNA chaplain, officiating.
