Joseph D. 'Joe' Humphrey

Joseph D. “Joe” Humphrey, 58, a 33-year resident of Harrisville, died Tuesday in Marion Township of an apparent heart attack while hunting.

Born in Greenville, June 7, 1953, he was the son of Joseph F. Humphrey and Dolores B. Marterella Humphrey.

He married Melane S. Uber on Oct. 28, 1974.

At the time of his death, Joe was a school bus driver for Campbell Bus Lines, Slippery Rock.

Mr. Humphrey was a Catholic.

He was a member of the Sons of the Legion, Chapter 853 of Harrisville, and a social member of VFW Post 519, Grove City. He was a former member of the Harrisville Volunteer Fire Department for 28 years and was chief for a number of years.

He enjoyed hunting, fishing, the Pittsburgh Steelers, camping, and spending time with family and friends.

Surviving are his wife, Melane at home; three children, Ryan J. Humphrey of Harrisville, Rossi A DePaolo and her husband, Christopher, of New Castle and Teresa R. McLaughlin and her husband, David, of Barkeyville; three grandchildren, Sydney N. and Gianna R. DePaolo and Paige E. McLaughlin; his father, Joseph F. Humphrey of Grove City; a brother, Timothy F. Humphrey and his wife, Christine, of New Wilmington; and his aunt and godmother, Loretta Tomei of Slippery Rock.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Dolores Humphrey.

<B>HUMPHREY</B> — Funeral services for Joseph D. “Joe” Humphrey, who died Tuesday, Oct. 25, 2011, will be at <B>Cunningham Funeral Home</B>, 306 Bessemer Ave., Grove City, at 11 a.m. Saturday with the Rev. Charles Cline officiating. Visitation will be at the funeral home from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday. Burial will be in Harmony Cemetery, Harrisville.In lieu of flowers, tributes can be made in Joe’s memory to the Harrisville Volunteer Fire Department, 313 E. Mercer St., Harrisville, PA 16038.
