Clarence Albert 'Sonny' Krick

Clarence Albert “Sonny” Krick, 83, of Meridian died Tuesday morning at VA Butler Healthcare.

Born Aug. 16, 1928, in Butler, he was a son of the late Albert Martin and Irene (Shaffer) Krick.

He was a retired supervisor for International Staple in East Butler and previously had worked for the Pullman Standard Car Co. in Butler until the plant closed. He also had worked at Wise Machine Shop.

Sonny was a member of St. Fidelis Roman Catholic Church in Meridian, had been a member of the choir for the former St. Conrad Roman Catholic Church and also the choir of St. Fidelis Church.

He had coached Meridian Little League Baseball and was a member of the Meridian Vets Club.

A veteran of World War II, he served with the U.S. Navy.

Surviving are his wife, Dollie J. (Soose) Krick, who he married June 10, 1950; eight children, Albert C. Krick of Worthington, Constance J. (Krick) Goff of Scottsboro, Ala., Larry M. Krick of West Sunbury, Lynn Marie (Krick) Cline of Ringgold, Ga., Wade P. Krick of Gibsonia, Daniel M. Krick of Greenville, S.C., Timothy J. Krick of Butler and Mark A. Krick of Apopka, Fla.; 10 grandchildren; and a great-granddaughter. Also surviving are a brother, David Krick of Mechanicsburg; and a sister, Mary Ann Merchant of Rochester, Mich.

He was preceded in death by a sister, Ruth Wilkin.

<B>KRICK </B>— Friends of Clarence Albert “Sonny” Krick, who died Tuesday, Nov. 1, 2011, will be received at <B>Geibel Funeral Home</B>, 201 E. Cunningham St., Butler, from 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday and from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Fidelis Roman Catholic Church, 125 Buttercup Road, Meridian. The Rev. James Murphy, pastor, will officiate. Internment with military honors will follow at Butler County Memorial Park.Members of the Bereavement Committee of St. Fidelis Parish will meet at 3 p.m. Friday at the funeral home for a parish vigil service.His family requests memorial donations in his honor be made to VA Butler Healthcare, 325 New Castle Road, Butler, PA 16001.Information also is available at www.geibelfuneralhome.com.
