Blanche Marie Howryla
Blanche Marie Howryla, 86, of Butler died Wednesday morning at UPMC Presbyterian Hospital in Pittsburgh.
She was born in Butler County, Aug. 6, 1925, a daughter of the late Clare and Margaret McKissock Stewart.
A homemaker, Blanche had worked at Troutman's department store in Butler for several years.
An active member of the SS Peter and Paul Ukrainian Orthodox Church in Lyndora, she was a member of the Ladies Guild, and was a devoted volunteer at its bake sales and perogie sales.
She was a member of TOPS Club 181, enjoyed bowling for many years, formerly had been a Cub Scout den mother of Pack 49 and was the caregiver for her husband before his passing.
She was the widow of John Howryla. They were married in Winchester, Va., June 10, 1950, and he died Feb. 27, 2008. As the last surviving member of her immediate family, she was preceded in death by three brothers and two sisters.
Surviving are three children, Pamela (John) Cajka and Roxann Newell, both of Butler, and John (Pamela) Howryla of Ford Cliff; two grandchildren, Kelsie Cajka and Ross Newell; a number of nieces and nephews, including Kathy Isaac of Butler; and many grandnieces and grandnephews.
<B>HOWRYLA</B> — Friends of Blanche Marie Howryla, who died Wednesday, Nov. 2, 2011, will be received at <B>Geibel Funeral Home</B>, 201 E. Cunningham St., Butler, from 7 to 9 p.m. Friday.
