Edward C. Nulph, 83, of Evans City passed away Saturday at Butler Memorial Hospital.

Born Aug. 5, 1928, in Forward Township, he was the son of James “Ted” and Bessie (Burr) Nulph, who are deceased.

Edward retired from Armco in 1990 after 44 years of dedicated service as a tempra steel roller.

He was a member of the Mars Alliance Church, the Evans City Lions Club, the Armco Retirees Association, the Evans City Cemetery Board, the Evans City Sportsmen's Club, the Evans City Oktoberfest Committee, the Evans City Historical Society and the Saturday Morning Men's Prayer Group at the Mars Alliance Church.

Edward is survived by his beloved wife of 63 years, Shirley A. (Bowser) Nulph of Evans City, who he married Dec. 10, 1947; his son, Denny Nulph and his wife Barbara, of Evans City; two daughters, Marsha Haines and her husband, Marvin, of Houston, Texas and Debbie Tarbet and her husband, Bob, of Evans City; his sister, Shirley Wahl and her husband, Dayne, of Zelienople; six loving grandchildren; and 12 precious great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by two brothers, William Nulph and Eugene Nulph; and his sister, Esther Green.

<B>NULPH</B> — The Nulph family will welcome friends of Edward C. Nulph, who died Saturday, Nov. 5, 2011, from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at the <B>BOYLAN FUNERAL HOME, </B>116 E. Main St., Evans City. A funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the Mars Alliance Church with the Rev. Jeff Lawther officiating. Interment will follow in Evans City Cemetery.In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Edward's honor to the Evans City Historical Society, 204 S.
