Donald M. Crouch
Donald M. Crouch, 87, of Butler, formerly of Germaine Road, passed away Monday at Concordia at the Orchard.
He was born Aug. 16, 1924, in Claytonia, Clay Township, the son of the late Warren George and Hazel (Montgomery) Crouch.
Don was a veteran of the U.S. Army Air Corps, serving in World War II.
He retired as postmaster of the Butler Post Office.
He was a member of the East Butler United Presbyterian Church, American Legion Post 117, the Disabled American Veterans, the National Association of Retired Federal Employees, the National Association of Postmasters of the United States, a charter member of East Butler Volunteer Fire Department, a past board member of Easter Seals, now Lifesteps, a life member of Tanglewood Center and AARP, past president of the Butler Safety Council, and a member of Masonic Lodge 272, New Castle Scottish Rite, Syria Temple, the Butler Shrine Luncheon Club and Butler Caravan 14.
He played baseball in the old Butler County League. Don enjoyed golfing.
Surviving are four daughters, Barbara Kaufold of Butler, Donna (Greg) Gray of Riverside, Calif., Marsha (Keith) Wilson of West Sunbury and Janice (Kevin) Ponteous of Butler; five grandchildren, Christine Gray Tinnesz, Gregory Gray Jr., Brian Kaufold, Justin Ponteous and Sara Ponteous Perkins; seven great-granddaughters; and a brother, Warren G. Crouch Jr. of Saline, Mich.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Twila M. (Hay) Crouch, who died Nov. 9, 1999; and a brother, Dewey E. Crouch.
<B>CROUCH</B> — Friends of Donald M. Crouch, who died Monday, Nov. 7, 2011, will be received at <B>Young Funeral Home</B>, 127 W. Jefferson St., Butler, Wednesday from 1 to 3 and 6 to 8 p.m. Services will be at the funeral home Thursday at 11 a.m. with his pastor, the Rev. Mary Kitchen, officiating.
