Alice H. Sita, 85, of Chicora died at 5 p.m. Thursday in Butler Memorial Hospital, following a brief illness.

She was born March 8, 1926, in Donegal Township to Flori Zanella and Ambrosina Flori Zanella.

After graduation, she worked for four years at the Spade Shirt Factory in Butler during World War II. She then worked for Gaisfords Pharmacy in Chicora for another four years.

She was a member of the Mater Dolorosa Roman Catholic Church in Chicora and a member of the Altar-Rosary Society of the church. She enjoyed reading and doing crossword puzzles.

She is survived by her husband, Samuel J. Sita, who she married October 17, 1959; three daughters, Judy Smith and her husband, Allan, of Rochester, N.Y., Patti Congialosi of Rochester, N.Y., and Helen Bacher of Butler; one son, Joseph Sita of Chicora; nine grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; one brother, Robert Zanella and his wife, Joyce, of Chicora; and one daughter-in-law, Rose Claypoole of Hamlin, N.Y.

She was preceded in death by one son, John Claypoole; three brothers, Ralph Zanella, Angelo Zanella and George Zanella; and one sister, Mary Rodgers.

Joseph Pudichery, pastor of Mater Dolorosa and St. Joseph churches, officiating.
