Harmon

Doris Ann Harmon, 76, of Butler passed away Friday, Nov. 18, 2011, at her home.

Born March 7, 1935, in Berlin, Somerset County, she was the daughter of the late Charles and Sarah (Ludy) Smith.

Doris worked part time in housekeeping in Berlin.

She enjoyed listening to music, watching western movies, attending classic car shows, spending time with her family and her beloved cat, Smokey.

She was a member of the Butler Assembly of God.

She is survived by three daughters, Barbara and her husband, Dale Christy, of Parkersburg, W.Va., Susan and her husband, Rick Cotten, of West Sunbury and Peggy and her husband, Charles Lawrence, of New Castle; three sons, David and his wife, Bonnie Harmon, of Harmony, Grant E. “Butch” Harmon, with whom she made her home, and Gary and his wife, Stacie Harmon, of New Castle; 19 grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren; and one sister, Mae Harclerode of Buffalo Mills.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Grant J. Harmon, who she married Jan. 29, 1951; two daughters; a son; two granddaughters, and a brother.

Private services have been held.
