Valentine W. Lehnerd

Valentine W. Lehnerd, 87, of Las Vegas, Nev., passed away Oct. 15, 2012, at Desert Springs Hospital, Las Vegas, Nev.

Born in Springdale, Pa., March 10, 1925, he was the son of Joseph C. Lehnerd and Loretta Carry Lehnerd Killmeyer. He was the last survivor of the Joseph C. Lehnerd family.

Valentine (Tiny), with his wife, Alice, and son, Val, left Butler in 1983 for Tucson, Ariz., and had lived in Las Vegas, Nev., for the past five years.

He attended St. Joseph Military Academy. He served in the U.S. Army in the American Theater and the Asiatic-Pacific Theater during World War II. He belonged to the American Legion Post 100.

He is survived by his wife of 66 years, Alice Boyle Lehnerd; a son, Valentine “J.B.” and his wife, Rebecca; five grandchildren, Sarah, Misha, Valentine M., Kyra and Sophia Lehnerd of Las Vegas, Nev.; and two brothers, Francis Killmeyer of Berlin, N.J., and John Killmeyer of Butler.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by four brothers, four sisters, two stepbrothers, two stepsisters and his stepfather, Frank Killmeyer.

LEHNERD— A funeral Mass for Valentine W. Lehnerd, who passed away Monday, Oct. 15, 2012, was held Nov. 14, 2012, at the Christ the King Roman Catholic Church of Las Vegas, Nev.A special Mass for Valentine W. Lehnerd will be at the St. Peter Roman Catholic Church, 127 Franklin St., Butler, at 8:45 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 6, for anyone who might want to attend.
