Mary Frances Crytzer
Mary Frances Crytzer, 91, of Butler passed away Sunday at the VNA Inpatient Hospice.
She was born March 31, 1921, in Butler. Fran, as her friends called her, was the oldest of seven children of the late Samuel A. and Helen Namie Isaac of Butler.
On Nov. 23, 1946, she married John G. Crytzer to whom she was married for more than 37 years before his passing in 1984.
Fran was primarily a homemaker but had worked before her marriage at Grant’s, the Spade Shirt Factory and Pullman Standard. During World War II, she was a volunteer at the Veterans Administration Hospital.
After her marriage, she was the secretary for Andrea’s School of Dance. Fran was a longtime worker for the Butler County Election Bureau in Ward 3 for both primary and general elections.
An avid bowler, she participated in a number of leagues in the Butler area. She also loved playing cards and belonged to a card club comprised of her sisters and lifelong friends.
Fran was a member of the St. Anthony’s Orthodox Church, the Butler Chapter Order of Eastern Star, St. Anthony’s Ladies Guild and the Home League of the Salvation Army. During her 91 years she held memberships with the St. Peter’s Anglican (Episcopal) Church and the Queen Elizabeth Lodge of the Rebekahs. She was a past president of the Lorraine Chapter Order of DeMolay Mothers’ Club, the Musical Theater Guild, the TOPS Club and the Butler Band Parents. She also was a volunteer worker for the Musical Theater Guild, Butler Little Theatre, the Butler Summer Dramatics Project and the Salvation Army.
Surviving are her son, Glenn (Lynn) Crytzer of Butler; grandson, Glenn Crytzer II of Seattle, Wash.; granddaughter, Laura Lynn Crytzer of Berea, Ohio; a sister, Jane (Norman) Wolfe of Largo, Fla.; a brother, Norman Isaac of El Paso, Texas; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, two sisters and two brothers.
CRYTZER — Friends of Mary Frances Crytzer, who passed away Sunday, Dec. 2, 2012, will be received at the Young Funeral Home, 127 W. Jefferson St., Butler, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday.Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at the St. Anthony's Orthodox Church, Butler, with Father Bogdan Bucur officiating.
