Ralph B. King

Ralph B. King, 83, of Ross Township passed away Sunday, Dec. 2, 2012.

Born in Pittsburgh, on June 25, 1929, he was the son of the late Arthur J. and Mary A. (Scheuring) King.

He was the beloved husband of the late Jacqueline A. (Stehle) King; loving father of Wayne D. (Lisa) King, Karen M. (Greg) Zeitler, Sharon M. King and the late Bruce E. King; brother of Rita (late Gus) Steigerwald and the late Arthur and Daniel King. Also surviving are his seven grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and his dear friend, Arlene Cameron.

Before his retirement, Ralph was an industrial engineer for the E.L. Wiegand Co., a division of the Emerson Electrical Co.

He proudly served his country in the U.S. Navy aboard the aircraft carrier USS Essex during the Korean War and was a member of VFW Post 2754.

Ralph was a life member of the St. Athanasius Church, where he served as an usher. He enjoyed fishing, camping and traveling.

King, who passed away Sunday, Dec. 2, 2012, will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday and Thursday at the Schellhaas Funeral Home, 388 Center Ave., West View, Pittsburgh.A Mass of Christian burial will be in St. Athanasius Catholic Church at 10 a.m. Friday. Interment will be in St. Mary's Cemetery, Mt.
