Florence E. Lesnett

Florence E. Lesnett, 80, of West Park Road, Portersville passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on Friday morning in St. Johns Specialty Care Center in Mars.

She was born in Princeton, Pa., on Sept. 13, 1931, to the late Harry M. Lewis and the late Lillian Brown Lewis.

She was a member of the former Ellport Church of the Nazarene and enjoyed gardening and canning, baking and cooking, and spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

She is survived by her husband of 63 years, George W. Lesnett, who she married on Oct. 26, 1948; six daughters and three sons, Shirley Hafer of Slippery Rock, Clara Lesnett and James Lesnett at home, Joanne (Larry) Heasley of New Castle, Carol (Richard) Davis of Butler, George (Stacy) Lesnett Jr. of Erie, Richard (Lynn) Lesnett of Portersville and Debbie (Richard) Cearfoss and Joyce Lesnett, both of Ellwood City; two sisters and one brother, Mary Bidinitto of New Castle, Pauline (Chuck) Stratton of Vincent, Ohio, and David Lewis of Lisbon, Ohio; 14 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two sisters, Alice Gruca and Mabel Jones.

LESNETT — Friends of Florence E. Lesnett, who died Friday, Dec. 9 2011, will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. on Sunday at the

TURNER FUNERAL HOME, Sixth Street at Park Avenue, Ellwood City.
